One of the most beautiful hikes I have been on is the Kaaterskill Fall hike located in the eastern Catskill Mountains of New York in Greene County. This hike is only a 1.4 mile hike. If you don't want to hike all the way down to the bottom, there is an outlook deck that overlooks the waterfalls. Don't miss stopping by it, the view is beautiful. It is important to stay on the marked trails because of the slippery steep edges. It is quick however it involves a hike down and back up. It is one of the shortest hikes considering the view at the end is incredible. The waterfall drops in two tiers over 260 feet. At the bottom you can swim in the waterfalls. I would recommend getting there really early being that in the summer it gets overcrowded with tourists. Right down the street is a place for cliff jumping. However, I will not disclose the exact location as it gets trashed by tourists. If you look close enough it's not hard to miss. Please remember to respect the area, and carry in and carry out any garbage brought in.
